What is a cold start Eco Tap?

When you lift a conventional mono basin tap the mixer is normally positioned in the middle. This means both hot and cold water are mixed together, so your hot supply will be turned on. 
Often if it is just a quick rinse and you don't have stored hot water it can take time for the hot water to reach the tap before you turn it off.  This is especially common if you have a combination boiler which will instantly fire up when you lift the tap regardless of how long the tap is on for.

So the solution to this issue is to offset the mixed position slightly to the left so when the tap in positioned in the centre it will only deliver 100% cold water saving you energy.
If the user wishes to have a mix or hot and cold or just hot water they just have to rotate the tap to the left.
